Installing Front-Axle Support

Information
Risk of damage to chassis components
- If the front-axle carrier, steering gear or front-axle support is not fitted correctly, never lower the vehicle onto its wheels!
- Supporting the vehicle on the front-axle carrier or on the front-axle support (e.g. using a jack) is not permitted!
- If the vehicle needs to be moved, the front-axle support must be installed beforehand using the old bolts and square nuts and must then be tightened to the specified torque without additional torque angle.
- Replace square nuts -1-

- Install front-axle support -1-

Front-axle support
- 2.1 Replace screws -4 and 5- .
- 2.2 Position front-axle support and fit new screws -4 and 5- .
- 2.3 Tighten the screws -4-

> Initial - tightening 90 Nm (66.4 ftlb.)
> Final tightening + 90°
- 2.4 Tighten the screws -5-

> Initial - tightening 90 Nm (66.4 ftlb.)
> Final tightening + 135°
- 2.5 Clip in electric line -2- at the positions -3- .
- Install heat insulation -1-

Heat insulation
- 3.1 Position heat insulation -1- .
- 3.2 Clip in clips -2- .
- 3.3 Screw in and tighten screws on heat insulation -3-
.
> Tightening - torque 2.5 Nm (1.75 ftlb.)
