Removing Wire Harness For Dashboard

NOTIFICATION 

Incorrect handling of wire harness 

• Risk of damage to lines 

  → The wire harness contains all airbag lines, antenna lines and optical waveguides.

  → The wire harness must not be separated and is always replaced as a complete wire harness when carrying out extensive repairs.

  → If individual lines are damaged, shut off these lines and install new lines. Route the new lines along the wire harness and secure them to the wire harness.

NOTIFICATION 

Incorrect handling of optical waveguides 

• Risk of damage to optical waveguide 

  → Observe the requirements for working with and installing optical waveguides.

1. Loosen and expose wire harness for dashboard in the lower right footwell.
2. Release electric plug connections -arrows a-  and disconnect them -arrow A-  .

3. Unclip section of line at the dashboard bracket at the left and guide it out -Arrows-  .

4. Release electric plug connection for temperature sensor at the air vent -arrows a-  and disconnect it -arrow A-  .

5. Loosen Section of line on top centre dashboard bracket and centre console and guide it out -Arrows-  .

6. Release electric plug connection in the left footwell -arrow a-  and disconnect it -arrow A-  .

7. Press carpet in left footwell to the side and disconnect and remove ground lines -1 and 2-  from the body.

8. Disconnect battery line -1-  .

   1. 8.1 Disconnect battery line -1-  in the engine compartment and guide it out.
   2. 8.2 Unclip battery line -1-  on the dashboard bracket -2-  .
   3. 8.3 Pull battery line -1-  in through the seal on the bulkhead.
9. Unclip section of line -1-  on dashboard bracket at the right and on passenger airbag holder -Arrows-  and expose it.
