Replacing automatic transmission
NOTE:
Voltage drop
- Irreparable damage to control unit
- Damage to control unit
- Fault entries in the control unit
- Control unit programming/coding is aborted
- Malfunctions in the control unit, even during programming/coding
- Switch off ignition before disconnecting the control unit.
- Make sure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming/coding.
- Connect the battery charger with at least > current 90 A to the vehicle battery.
Information
- All remote controls (keys) are required for teaching a DME, rear-end electronics (rear BCM), electronic steering lock (ELV) control unit for example, or for teaching remote controls (keys).
- Remote controls (keys) that are not taught during this teaching procedure will no longer be recognized by the vehicle.
Information
The PIWIS Tester instructions take precedence since the description may be different with later Tester releases.
The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear on the PIWIS Tester .
- Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
- Select the vehicle type if necessary.
- Select the Transmission electronics (Tiptronic) control unit in the overview . Press F12 to continue. The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press F11 to continue.
- Select Coding/programming .
- Select Automatic programming . Press F12 to continue.
- Read and follow the instructions and information on the Tester. Press F12 to continue and then press F8 to start.
- The Tester displays the message: Programming was completed successfully. Press F12 to continue.
- Select Engine immobilizer commissioning . Press F12 to continue.
- Read and follow the instructions and information on the Tester. Press F12 to continue.
- Perform engine immobilizer commissioning according to menu guidance.
- The Tester displays the message: Engine immobilizer commissioning completed successfully. Press F12 to continue.
- Read out the fault memory and erase it if necessary.
- Exit the diagnostic application. Switch off ignition. Disconnect the Tester from the vehicle.
- Lock, open and start the vehicle using all remote controls.
- Carry out a test drive. Read out the fault memory again after the test drive.
