Information 

Adjusting the front axle 

The front axle can be adjusted as follows:

WARNING: Steering-angle sensor not calibrated or calibrated incorrectly 
  • Unexpected vehicle handling 
  • Steering-angle sensor does not function 
  • Malfunction in steering-angle sensor 

    → After working on wheel suspension parts, when replacing the steering-angle sensor, and after changing the wheel alignment values, calibrate the steering-angle sensor using the PIWIS Tester  .

    → Keep the front wheels in straight-ahead position on the measuring platform during calibration.

    → For vehicles with electromechanical steering, also re-teach the electric steering lock settings.

Wheel alignment values for each wheel Steel springs, Basic, conventional Steel springs, Basic, PASM Steel springs, GTS
Front axle 
Toe (vehicle with suspension compressed 0 mm  ) = DIN Empty, Basic  + 5.0' ± 3'+ 5.0' ± 3'  -  
Toe (vehicle with suspension compressed 20 mm) = DIN Empty, GTS  - - + 5.0' ± 3' 
maximum difference, left to right 6' 6' 6'
Camber (vehicle with suspension compressed 00 mm  ) = DIN Empty, Basic  - 30' ± 20' - 30' ± 20' -
Camber (vehicle with suspension compressed 20 mm) = DIN Empty, GTS  - - - 44' ± 20'
maximum difference, left to right 20' 20' 20'
Toe difference angle at 20° steering angle - 1°30' ± 30' - 1°30' ± 30' - 1°45' ± 30'
Caster angle (for checking purposes, cannot be adjusted) + 3°55' ± 30' + 3°55' ± 30' + 4°16' ± 30'
