WARNING:
Highly inflammable or explosive materials
- Danger of fire or explosion
- → Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.
- → Use suction to remove ignitable vapours.
- → Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.
- → Contain leaked media using non-flammable absorbent material and put it in a container designed for this purpose for disposal in accordance with local requirements.
- → Secure collection containers/vessels to prevent them from tipping over.
WARNING:
Caustic fluids
- Danger of chemical burns
- → Wear personal protective gear.
- → Ensure that there is good ventilation.
- → Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
- → If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.
Information
The battery voltage must not fall below 12.5 volts during the fuel pressure check.
- Connect a battery charger.
- Attach or mount a warning sign in a clearly visible position on the vehicle.

- Relieve fuel pressure in the system.
Fuse carrier A
- 3.1 Open cover on fuse carrier A -1- in the engine compartment.
- 3.2 Pull out fuse for fuel pump - see wiring diagram for information.
- 3.3 Start the engine, wait until it stops and then re-insert the fuse.
- Connect test tools -1 and 2-

Test tools on fuel low-pressure line
- 4.1 Place suitable aids for collecting emerging fuel underneath the fuel low-pressure line connection point.
- 4.2 Release and disconnect plug-in coupling for the fuel low-pressure line. Catch emerging fuel.
- 4.3 Close off line connection for the fuel low-pressure line at the engine side using a suitable stopper.
- 4.4 Connect pressure gauge -1- from tool set > V.A.G 1318 - K-Jetronic pressure tester to the fuel low-pressure line on the vehicle side with > V.A.G 1318 - K-Jetronic pressure tester-2- .
