Draining Oil For Transfer Box

Information 

• The transmission must be in installation position. 
• Raise the vehicle so that it is level on the lifting platform. 

1. First unscrew the oil filler screw -4-  , then the oil drain plugs -3-  and catch the oil.

   Overview of oil drain plugs and oil filler screws

   1. 1.1 Depending on model:  Unscrew temperature sensor in the transfer gear instead of the right oil drain plug and catch the oil.
   2. 1.2 Replace oil drain plug, oil filler screw and temperature sensor.
2. Leave oil to drain for ten minutes  .
3. Close off drain openings
   1. 3.1 Screw in and tighten new oil drain plugs.

      > Tightening torque 17 Nm (13 ftlb.) (12.5 ftlb.) 

   2. 3.2 Depending on model: Screw in and tighten new temperature sensor.

      > Tightening torque 14 Nm (10.3 ftlb.) 

4. Dispose of waste oil in accordance with legal requirements.
