Changing Oil For All-Wheel Final Drive

- Secure vehicle to prevent it rolling away.
- To check transmission oil the vehicle must be horizontal.

Use only oil approved by Porsche.
- Unscrew oil filler screw -7-
and oil drain plug -8-
.
Overview of oil drain plugs and oil filler screws
- 1.1 Collect emerging oil.
- 1.2 Replace oil filler screw and oil drain plug.
- Leave oil to drain for ten minutes .
- Close off drain openings.
- 3.1 Screw in and tighten new oil drain plugs.
> Tightening torque 10 (7.5 lb.) Nm (7.4 ftlb.)
Add oil:
- 3.1 Screw in and tighten new oil drain plugs.
- Use > VAS 6563 - transmission fluid filler pump set (pump 2 is for transmission oil) to pump new oil into the filler opening until oil emerges or drips out.
- Tighten "old" oil filler screw hand-tight.
- Lower the vehicle to 30 centimeters above the floor.
- PIWIS Tester must be connected in the vehicle.
- Engage gear position D, rev to a cardan shaft speed of 500 rpm and maintain this for 60 seconds.
(This corresponds to a speed of between 20 and 25 km/h (12 and 15 mph)
- 8.1 The speed can be read out using the PIWIS Tester (Transmission output speed).
- 8.2 Tester path: Transmission electronics (Tiptronic) >> Actual values >> General >> Transmission output speed .
- After 5 minutes rest time
, stop the engine and unscrew the oil filler screw.
Do not engage any gear during the rest time.
- Add new oil using the pump until oil emerges or drips out.
- Allow the oil to drip for 2 minutes
and then close off the filler opening with a new oil filler screw.
> Tightening torque 27 Nm (20 ftlb.) (19.9 ftlb.)
- Carefully remove all traces of oil on the transmission housing.
