Replacing Drive Shaft Sealing Ring (Front Protective Tube)

- Drill through old drive shaft sealing ring -1-
using impact puller VAS 6965/8 -2-
from > VAS 6965 - puller set
and pull it out.

- Install new
drive shaft sealing ring -1-
.
Drive shaft sealing ring (front protective tube)
- 2.1 Clean protective tube for drive shaft and contact surface of sealing ring on transmission housing.
Information
Use correct tool as required for the different press-in depths.
- > T90031 - Pressure piece for Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid/Turbo S E-Hybrid Coupe
- > T90032 - Pressure piece for Cayenne Turbo/Turbo Coupe
- > T40391 - Assembly fixture for all other vehicles
- 2.2 Fit centring element -2- on the drive shaft.
- 2.3 Fit new sealing ring on centring element -2- .
- 2.4 Use pressure piece -3- to drive the sealing ring in as far as it will go.
- 2.5 Remove tool.
- 2.1 Clean protective tube for drive shaft and contact surface of sealing ring on transmission housing.
