Removing Sealing Ring On Flanged Shaft

WARNING:
Hot fluid
- Danger of scalding
- → Let the fluid cool down.
- → Wear personal protective gear.
- Loosen end plate on flanged shaft -1-
.
Left flanged shaft
- 1.1 Unscrew screws -2- .
- 1.2 Pull end plate on flanged shaft -1- together with the left flange shaft out of the transmission.
- V6:
Remove differential cover -12- .

- 2.1 Unscrew screws in the sequence -11 to 1- .
- 2.2 Remove differential cover -12- .
- V8:
Remove differential cover -1- .

- 3.1 Unscrew screws -2- in diagonally opposite sequence.
- Remove transfer box -1-
from the housing.

- Remove outer ring for taper roller bearing -1-
and adjusting shim -2-
from the housing.

- Remove sealing ring on flanged shaft.
Extractor on sealing ring on flanged shaft
- 6.1 Set inner part of > 3240 - extractor (-1- ) so that it is flush with the outer part and lock the inner part with knurled screw -Arrow- .
- 6.2 Oil threaded head of > 3240 - extractor (-1- ), position it and screw it in as far as required until the sealing ring also turns.
- 6.3 Continue to turn > 3240 - extractor (-1- ) and pull it at the same time in order to remove the sealing ring.
- 6.4 Clean sealing surfaces thoroughly.
