Installing Power-Steering Gear
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Installation is performed in reverse order. Pay particular attention to the following:
- 1.1 Before installing the power-steering gear, make sure that the power-steering gear is in centre position. (The marking on the dust boot -1-
must be aligned with the rib on the housing cover -2-
)
Steering gear in centre position
- 1.2 Tighten nut on ground line.
> Tightening torque 16 Nm (12 ftlb.)
- 1.3 Replace screws for power-steering gear.
- 1.4 Tighten screws for power-steering gear.
> Initial tightening 80 Nm (59 ftlb.) and > Final tightening + 180°
- 1.5 Replace screw for universal joint for steering column.
- 1.6 Tighten screw on universal joint for steering column.
> Initial tightening 20 Nm (14.8 ftlb.) and > Final tightening + 90°
