Installing Tie-Rod Ball

Tie-rod ball (shown on the 971)

1. 1.1 Screw tie-rod ball -1-  onto the tie rod. Observe the marking.
2. 1.2 Counter tie-rod ball -1-  at the flattened areas -Arrows-  using a suitable open-ended wrench.
3. 1.3 Tighten lock nut -2-  .

   > Tightening torque 80 Nm (59 ftlb.) 

1. 2.1 Screw on and tighten nut -2-  for joint pin on the tie-rod ball.

   > Tightening torque 140 Nm (103.3 ftlb.)

   Mounting for tie rod on wheel bearing housing

1. 3.1 Position air guide for brake disc -1-  .
2. 3.2 Secure air guide for brake disc -1-  with a tie-wrap -2-  using > VAS 6927 - tie-wrap pliers  .
