Replacing Front-Axle Carrier

- Convert power-steering gear -1-

Power-steering gear on front-axle carrier
- 1.1 Unscrew screws on power-steering gear -2- .
- 1.2 Remove power-steering gear -1- from front-axle carrier -3- .
- 1.3 Have new screws ready for the power-steering gear -2- .
- 1.4 Insert power-steering gear -1- into new front-axle carrier -3- .
- 1.5 Screw in screws for power-steering gear -2- by hand, but do not tighten until you have fitted the front-axle carrier -3- .
- Convert control arm -1-

Control arm at front-axle carrier
- 2.1 Unscrew nut -2- and counter at screw -3- .
- 2.2 Remove screw -3- and remove control arm -1- from front-axle carrier -4- .
- 2.3 Visually inspect rubber mountings and axle joint on control arm for signs of damage and replace if damaged.
- 2.4 Replace control arm nuts -2- and control arm screws -3- and have new control arm nuts -2- and control arm screws -3- ready.
- 2.5 Insert control arm -1- into new front-axle carrier -4- .
- 2.6 Insert control arm screws -3- and screw on nuts -2- by hand, but do not tighten until you have fitted the front-axle carrier -4- .
- Convert engine mount -1-

Engine mount on front-axle carrier
- 3.1 Unscrew screw securing engine mount to front-axle carrier (inner) -2- .
- 3.2 Unscrew screws securing engine mount to front-axle carrier (outer) -3- .
- 3.3 Remove engine mount -1- from front-axle carrier.
- 3.4 Position engine mount -1- on new front-axle carrier.
- 3.5 Fit screws -2 and 3- .
- 3.6 Tighten screw -2-

> Torque 55 Nm (40.6 ftlb.)
- 3.7 Tighten screws -3-
.
> Torque 30 Nm (22.1 ftlb.)
