Removing Brake Pedal

1. Disconnect brake booster push rod -2-  from brake pedal -1-  .

   Push rod on brake pedal

   1. 1.1  Press the brake pedal -1-  towards the brake booster with your hand. -arrow A- 
   2. 1.2  > T40136 - Release tool  must be positioned at the retaining lugs -3-  of the ball joint mounting.
   3. 1.3  Release retaining lugs -3-  using > T40136 - release tool  and counter at the brake pedal -1-  .
   4. 1.4  Pull brake pedal -1-  together with > T40136 - release tool  away from the push rod -2-  . -arrow B- 
2. Unscrew screw -1-  .

3. Remove brake pedal -1-  .

   Brake pad removal

   1. 3.1  Pull safety clips -2-  off the bolts -3-  .
   2. 3.2  Remove bolts -3-  from mounting saddle and remove brake pedal -1-  by pulling it down out of the mounting saddle -Arrow-  .

Installing brake pedal 

1. Install brake pedal -1-  .

   Brake pedal

   1. 1.1  Insert brake pedal -1-  into the mounting saddle.
   2. 1.2  Insert bolts -3-  into the mounting saddle and brake pedal -1-  .
   3. 1.3  Push on safety clips -2-  on bolts -3-  and check that the safety clips -2-  are seated correctly.
2. Fit and tighten screw -1-  .

   > Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)

3. Engage brake booster push rod in the ball joint mounting on the brake pedal. It must lock with an audible click.
