Preliminary Work

Information 

Do not open the brake hydraulic system.

  1. > VAS 5908 - Battery charger 90 A  must be connected to the vehicle.

    > 2X00IN TRICKLE CHARGING 12-VOLT LITHIUM-ION BATTERY

  2. Select brake pad change mode using PIWIS Tester. 
    1. 2.1  Select → 'Brake electronics (PSM, incl. parking brake)'  in the 'Control unit overview'  and press F12  to confirm your selection.
    2. 2.2  Select 'Drive links/checks'  → 'Start brake pad change mode'  and start the procedure.
  3. Loosen both rear brake callipers and hang them at a suitable position in the wheel housing. Do not disconnect the brake pipes from the brake callipers.
