Installing Rear PCCB Brake Disc

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Information 

Do not confuse the rear PCCB brake discs at the left and right during installation!

Distinguishing feature: Part number! The flat surface of the rear PCCB brake discs is marked with R = right or L = left!

  1. Only when re-using brake discs: 

    Check thickness of brake pad rear.

    > 463802 CHECK THICKNESS OF BRAKE PAD REAR 

  2. Only when re-using brake discs: 

    Check rear PCCB brake discs.

    > 465402 CHECKING REAR PCCB BRAKE DISCS (WEAR ASSESSMENT) 

  3. Clean the levelling and centering surfaces on the rear PCCB brake disc and wheel hub.
  4. Apply a very thin coat of Molub Alloy Paste TA to the centering surface on the wheel hub.
  5. Installing the brake disc.

    Rear PCCB brake disc

    1. 5.1  Position brake disc on contact surface.
    2. 5.2  Fit screws for brake disc -Arrows-  and tighten.

      > Tightening torque 8 Nm (5.9 ftlb.) 

  6. Cancel brake pad change mode using the PIWIS Tester. 
    1. 6.1  Select → 'Brake electronics (PSM, incl parking brake)'  in the 'Control unit overview'  and press F12  to confirm your selection.
    2. 6.2  Select → 'Cancel brake pad change mode'  under 'Drive links/checks'  and start the procedure.
    3. 6.3  > VAS 5908 - Battery charger 90A  must now be disconnected from the vehicle.
