Install Brake Disc Rear

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Information 

Do not confuse left and right brake discs during installation!

Distinguishing feature- Part number! The flat surface of the brake discs is marked with R = right or L = left!

  1. Only when re-using brake discs: 

    Check thickness of brake pad rear.

    > 463802 CHECK THICKNESS OF BRAKE PAD REAR 

  2. Only when re-using brake discs: 

    Check brake pad rear.

    > Checking brake disc rear (grey cast iron) 

    > 465302 CHECKING BRAKE DISC REAR (PSCB) 

  3. Clean the levelling and centering surfaces on the brake disc rear and wheel hub.
  4. Apply a very thin coat of Molub Alloy Paste TA to the centering surface on the wheel hub.
  5. Installing the brake disc.

    Brake disc rear

    1. 5.1  Position brake disc on contact surface.
    2. 5.2  Fit screws for brake disc -Arrows-  and tighten to > Tightening torque 8 Nm (5.9 ftlb.)  .
  6. Exit brake pad change mode using the PIWIS Tester. 
    1. 6.1  Select → 'Brake electronics (PSM, incl. parking brake)'  in the 'Control unit overview'  and press F12  to confirm your selection.
    2. 6.2  Select → 'Cancel brake pad change mode'  under 'Drive links/checks'  and start the procedure.
