Installing Front Brake Disc

Information 

Do not confuse left and right brake discs during installation!

Distinguishing feature: Part number! The flat surface of the brake discs is marked with R = right or L = left!

1. Only when re-using brake discs: 

   Check thickness of front disc brake pads.

   > Checking front PCCB brake pads 

2. Only when re-using brake discs: 

   Check front brake disc (wear assessment).

   > Checking front PCCB brake discs (wear assessment) 

3. Clean the levelling and centering surfaces on the brake disc and wheel hub.
4. Apply a very thin coat of Molub Alloy Paste TA to the centering surface on the wheel hub.
5. Install brake disc.

   Front brake disc

   1. 5.1  Position brake disc on contact surface.
   2. 5.2  Fit and tighten new  screws on brake disc -Arrows-  .

      > Tightening torque 8 Nm (5.9 ftlb.) 

6. Fit front brake calliper -1-  .

   Front brake calliper

   1. 6.1  Reset brake pads using > 9472 - brake piston resetting fixture  .
   2. 6.2  Remove securing elements and > T10439 - assembly pins  .
   3. 6.3  Position front brake calliper -1-  .
   4. 6.4  Screw in and tighten brake calliper screws -3-  .

      > Initial tightening 30 Nm (22 ftlb.)  > Final tightening + 90° 

   5. 6.5  Connect electric plug connection for brake pad wear indicator -2-  .
