Layer Thickness Test

Information 

The brake disc temperature must be between 0°C and 40°C during the test process.

1. > VAS 6272 - Paint thickness tester  must be calibrated using > 9938 - calibration piece  .
2. Check thickness.
   1. 2.1  > VAS 6272 - Paint thickness tester-1 -  must be positioned on the brake disc -2-  in such a way that the measuring head is flat on the surface.

      Layer thickness with/without wheel

      Information 

      The measurement points 1 to 5 must be centred radially on the friction surface of the brake disc.

      The measurement points 6 and 7 must be offset by 10 mm outwards and inwards.

   2. 2.2  Measure layer thickness at the measurement points -1 to 7-  .

   3. 2.3  If the measured value at one or more measurement points is less than the setpoint value engraved on the brake disc hub: Replace brake disc.
