Removing Transmission Control Mechanism

WARNING: Hot fluid 
  • Danger of scalding 
    1. Let the fluid cool down.

  1. Remove electric pump -1-  .

    1. 1.1 Release and disconnect electric plug connection -2-  .
    2. 1.2 Unscrew screws in the sequence -5 to 3-  .
    3. 1.3 Pull off electric pump -1-  .
  2. Release and disconnect electric plug connection -1-  on the transmission by turning it anti-clockwise.

  3. Remove transmission connector housing -1-  .

    1. 3.1 Unscrew screw -2-  .
    2. 3.2 Release and disconnect transmission connector housing -1-  on the transmission by turning it anti-clockwise.
  4. Position gearshift lever for emergency release in a vertical position and secure it at this position with a tie-wrap. This makes it easier to engage the selector valve in the emergency release claw during installation.

    Rpm sensor in park position

    • To prevent damage to the rpm sensor when removing the transmission control mechanism, the rpm sensor must be secured in the so-called park position. 
    • The position of the rpm sensor -1- must be changed as shown for this purpose and must be moved into park position. 
  5. Loosen rpm sensor -1-  from transmission housing.

    1. 5.1 Unscrew screw -2-  .
    2. 5.2 Move rpm sensor -1-  into park position.

    Information 

    • Only the screws with head screw Torx T40 must be loosened. 
    • Loosening other screws can impair the function of the transmission control mechanism or the transmission control mechanism can separate. 
  6. Remove transmission control mechanism -1-  .

    Transmission control mechanism

    1. 6.1 Unscrew screws in the sequence -19 to 3-  .
    2. 6.2 > T40199 - Centring tool  must be screwed hand-tight into the screw holes -6, 8, 13 and 15-  .
    3. 6.3 Unscrew screw -2-  .
    4. 6.4 Remove transmission control mechanism -1-  .
    5. 6.5 > T40199 - Guide pins  must now be removed.
