Installing Transmission Control Mechanism

Information 

• Before installation, check the sealing faces on the electrohydraulic control unit and on the transmission for damage and soiling. 
• Damaged or soiled parts must not be used. Ensure absolute cleanliness during installation. 

1. Replacing O-rings.
2. Checking oil pipes for damage and check that they are fitted securely in the transmission control mechanism.

   Information 

   • To prevent damage to the rpm sensor, it must be positioned carefully by hand. 
   • Always make sure that the rpm sensor engages securely and is visibly touching the screw support before fitting the relevant screw. 
3. Installing transmission control mechanism -1-  .

   Transmission control mechanism

   1. 3.1 > T40199 - Centring tool  must be screwed hand-tight into the screw holes -6, 8, 13 and 15-  .
   2. 3.2 Fitting transmission control mechanism -1-  and screw in the new  screws -2 to 5-  by hand until the screw heads are all the way down.
   3. 3.3 Positioning rpm sensor and fitting new  screw -18-  by hand.
   4. 3.4 > T40199 - Guide pins  must now be removed.
   5. 3.5 Tightening new  screws in the sequence -2 to 19-  .

      > Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 ftlb.) 

4. Cut tie-wrap on the gearshift lever for emergency release.
5. Installing transmission connector housing -1-  .

   Transmission connector housing

   1. 5.1 Inserting transmission connector housing -1-  with the lug facing downwards and locking it into position by turning it clockwise.
   2. 5.2 Tighten screw -2-  .

      > Tightening torque 7.5 Nm (5.5 ftlb.) 

6. Connecting electric plug connection -1-  on the transmission and locking it by turning it clockwise.

7. Installing electric pump -1-  .

   1. 7.1 Replacing O-ring.
   2. 7.2 Inserting electric pump -1-  .
   3. 7.3 Tightening new  screws in the sequence -3 to 5-  .

      > Initial tightening 4 Nm (3 ftlb.) 

      > Final tightening torque angle 45 Grad 

   4. 7.4 Connecting and locking electric plug connection -2-  .
