Preliminary Work
- Disconnect 48-volt vehicle electrical system.

- Remove wheels.

- Remove front-axle support.

- Remove anti-roll bar.

> 407719 REMOVING AND REINSTALLING FRONT STABILISER (PDCC) - information on "Removing" The PDCC system can be active when the ignition is switched on (even when the vehicle is stationary). To avoid injury/crushing, only work near the anti-roll bar, lower trailing arm and bellows of the steering gear when the ignition is switched off and always allow for the run-on time of 60 seconds.
- To make it easier to remove the tie-rod ball, swivel the relevant wheel bearing housing so that the tie rod is fully extended.

- 6.1 Cut tie-wrap -2- .

- Remove tie-rod ball -1-
at the wheel bearing housing.

Unscrew nut -2-
on joint pin for the tie-rod ball as far as required so that it is flush with the upper edge of the joint pin.

Press off joint pin on the tie-rod ball using > T40010A - ball joint puller

- 7.3 Unscrew nut from the joint pin on the tie-rod ball and counter at the hexagon socket of the joint pin.

on joint pin for the tie-rod ball as far as required so that it is flush with the upper edge of the joint pin.
