Removing Steering Column (Centre)

CAUTION:
Sharp edges on the steering column.
- Risk of cuts or gashes to the hands.
→ Wear safety gloves.
- Unscrew screw -2-
on intermediate steering shaft -1-

Intermediate steering shaft on steering column (center)
- Only for vehicles with electrical steering column adjustment:
Release and disconnect electric plug connection -1-
.
Electric plug connection on steering column (center)
- Remove steering column (center) -1-
.
Steering column (center)
- 3.1 Unscrew screws in the sequence -5 to 2- and support the center of the steering column -1- from below with your hand.
- 3.2 Only for vehicles with electric steering column lock: Lower the center of the steering column -1- as far as required so that the electric plug connection -6- on the electric steering column lock control unit is accessible.
- 3.3 Only for vehicles with electric steering column lock: Release and disconnect electric plug connection -6- .
- 3.4 Pull center steering column -1- carefully off the intermediate steering shaft and guide it out of the driver's footwell.
