Installing Torque Converter

  1. Install torque converter -1-  .

    Extractor on torque converter

    1. 1.1  Replace O-ring on the transmission input shaft.
    2. 1.2  Slide on torque converter -1-  carefully and without tilting it as far as the first stop on the transmission input shaft using > T40176 - extractor (-2-)  .
    3. 1.3  Turn the torque converter -1-  using slight pressure until the notch toothing on the torque converter -1-  engages in the drive hub of the transmission oil pump and you feel the torque converter sliding inwards.
  2. Check distance between the surface of the converter bell housing and the surface of the lugs using > VAS 6082 - depth gauge  . If the converter is inserted correctly, the distance must be at least 16 mm.
  3. Unscrew nut -3-  and remove > T40176 - extractor (-2-)  from the torque converter -1-  .
