Preliminary Work

  1. Disconnect 48-volt vehicle electrical system.

    > 2X00IN WORK INSTRUCTION FOR 48 V VEHICLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

  2. Remove exhaust system.

    > Removing and installing exhaust system 

  3. Remove cardan shaft.

    > Removing and installing cardan shaft 

  4. Remove cover for center underbody.

    > Removing and installing cover for center underbody 

  5. Remove brake calliper

    Rear brake calliper

    1. 5.1  Release and disconnect electric plug connection for wear indicator -3-  .
    2. 5.2  Unscrew screws on brake calliper -2-  .
    3. 5.3  Remove brake calliper -1-  .

      Information 

      Do not suspend the brake calliper on the brake line or on the electric line for the brake pad wear indicator.

  6. Hang the brake calliper -1-  at a suitable position in the wheel housing.

    1. 6.1  Protect brake calliper -1-  with a cloth to prevent paint damage.
  7. Vehicles with air suspension system: Bleed the air springs.

    Electric plug connection on air spring bellows

    1. 7.1  Release and disconnect electric plug connection -1-  .
  8. Disconnect air line -1-  from air spring bellows.

    Threaded joint for air line

    1. 8.1  Compress the relevant air spring bellows -Arrows-  until the threaded joint -2-  on the air line -1-  is accessible.
    2. 8.2  Unscrew threaded joint -2-  .
    3. 8.3  Let all the air escape from the air spring bellows. Compress the air spring with your hand if necessary.
  9. Vehicles without air suspension system: Remove rear coil spring.
