Removing Turbocharger

NOTIFICATION
Dirt and contamination
- Risk of damage to units or components
- → Protect components from dirt and contamination.
- → Clean or replace dirty components.
Information
- Clean all line connections carefully and close them off or cover them.
- Use suitable stoppers for closing off lines.
- Turbocharger on right-hand side:
Disconnect lines on turbocharger.
When replacing the turbocharger, separate the positive crankcase ventilation hose:
> 105255 REPLACING POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION HOSE (V8 BITURBO)
Line connections for turbocharger, right
- 1.1 Release and disconnect line connection -2- for the vent line -1- to the oil mist separator.
- 1.2 Disconnect vacuum hose -3- from vacuum modulator.
- 1.3 Release and disconnect electric plug connection diverter valve -4- .
- Turbocharger on left-hand side:
Disconnect lines on turbocharger.
Line connections for turbocharger, left
- 2.1 Disconnect vacuum hose -1- from vacuum modulator.
- 2.2 Release and disconnect electric plug connection diverter valve -2- .
- Remove oil pipe supply line -1-

Oil pipes supply line
- 3.1 Unscrew screw -2- and remove it using a bar magnet.
- 3.2 Unscrew screws -3- .
- 3.3 Lift up retainer plates -Arrows- using a wedge.
- 3.4 Disconnect oil pipe and collect escaping oil.
- Disconnect return oil pipes -1-

Return oil pipes
- 4.1 Unscrew screw -2- and remove it using a bar magnet.
- Disconnect coolant lines -2 and 3-

Mounting for turbocharger coolant lines
- 5.1 Unscrew screw on retainer plate -1- .
- 5.2 Remove retainer plate -4- and disconnect coolant lines -2 and 3- . Catch escaping coolant.
- Loosen V-band clamp -1-
.
Turbocharger on exhaust manifold
- 6.1 Unscrew hexagon nuts -2- on the V-band clamps -1- .
- Remove turbocharger and carefully disconnect and close off the front oil pipe. Collect escaping oil.
