- Get one or more people to help when installing/removing heavy or difficult-to-reach components.
- This will prevent or reduce the risk of possible damage.
- Unscrew fastening screws -1-
and remove heat shield -2-

- Loosen spring band clamps -1-
using > VAS 6890 - spring band clamp pliers
and disconnect coolant hoses -2-
from the electric motor.

- Open the line bracket -1-
and remove coolant supply hose -2-
from the electric motor.

The fastening screws for the transmission housing cover must be replaced.
The transmission housing cover must be replaced.
Before installing the new transmission housing cover, the sealing face must be cleaned.

- 4.1 Unscrew fastening screws -2 and 3- .
- 4.2 Remove transmission housing cover at high-voltage connection for electric motor -1- .
- Disconnect high-voltage line from power electronics to electric motor -2-

- 5.2 Unscrew fastening screws -3- from high-voltage line from power electronics to electric motor -2- .
- 5.3 Remove high-voltage line from power electronics to electric motor -2- from electric motor.

- Loosen torque converter from the electric motor.

Unscrew fastening screw on the torque converter -1-

Continue to turn the torque converter at the shaft of the electric motor -1-
by hand until the next fastening screw on the torque converter is accessible.

Unscrew the next fastening screw on the torque converter -1-

- 7.4 Repeat the steps until you have unscrewed all fastening screws on the torque converter -1- .

- Move automatic transmission into a vertical position using > VAS 6095A - engine and gearbox bracket .
- Loosen the electric motor.

- → Wear personal protective gear.
- → Get someone to help if necessary.

- 10.1 Secure two > 9700 - transport eyebolts -2- to the electric motor -1- .
- 10.2
On > 9700 - transport eyebolts -2-
, engage the carabiner hooks -3-
of the > 3033 - lifting tackle.

CAUTION: Risk of damageThe protective tube -1- must be held in position when the electric motor is removed.
The protective tube -1- must not be pulled out of the automatic transmission.
If the protective tube -1- is not held in position, the seal -2- in the automatic transmission can become damaged.

- 10.3 Lift up electric motor -1- using > VAS 6100 - workshop crane -4- while another person guides the electric motor -1- along.
