Thermal Assessment

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Thermal assessment involves using VAS 6886 Temperature gauge  (infrared) on the module housing (sides and top).

Information

If the temperature increases during the test, wait for the reaction before continuing to monitor the result for at least 5 days.

This must be repeated for as long as required until no more reactions are detected.

Measurement: 1
Date: __________________ Time: ____________
Ambient temperature: _______________ °C/(°F)
Measurement result at side measuring point: ____________ °C/(°F)
Measurement result at top measuring point: ____________ °C/(°F)
Measurement: 2 - 5 (damaged or faulty lithium-ion module)
Date:
Time:
Ambient temperature: ______ °C/(°F) ______ °C/(°F) ______ °C/(°F) ______ °C/(°F)
Measurement result, sides: ______ °C/(°F) ______ °C/(°F) ______ °C/(°F) ______ °C/(°F)
Measurement result, top: ______ °C/(°F) ______ °C/(°F) ______ °C/(°F) ______ °C/(°F)

If the temperature at one of the measuring points is > 80°C/(176°F)

Module status: "Danger"

Alert the fire brigade and take steps to deal with the danger from fire/gas leaks.

If the temperature at one of the measuring points is > 60°C/(140°F) and < 80°C/(176°F)

Module status: "Warning"

Store the lithium-ion module in the quarantine location and attach warning signs in accordance with requirements (see "Handling lithium-ion batteries"). Contact Technical Support.

Check the module at regular intervals at least once a day.
