Preliminary work for measurement 8
(Electric motor, 3-phase line)
Loosen front-axle support.
> 400819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT-AXLE SUPPORT - on "Removing"
Unscrew cover on connection for 3-phase line at the electric motor.
Cover on connection for 3-phase line
Disconnect 3-phase wiring at the electric motor.
3-phase line
Use > VAS 6838 - insulation tester to measure the resistance at the terminal shoes of the 3-phase wiring.
Measure all 3 high-voltage lines individually.
Measurement 8
Perform measurement 8.
Setpoint value > 550 MOhm
Evaluate measured result
If the measured value is within the tolerance range, continue with measurement 8.1
If the measured value is outside of the tolerance range, replace 3-phase wiring.
After replacing the 3-phase wiring, repeat measurement 5.
Preliminary work for measurement 8.1
Fit a 4-mm washer under the fastening screws for the 3-phase line and screw in fastening screws on electric motor.
Tightening torque for screw: 20 Nm (15 ftlb.)
Fit new fastening screws before final re-installation.
Use insulation tester > VAS 6838 - Insulation tester to measure the resistance at the fastening screw for the electric motor housing.
Measure all 3 high-voltage connections individually.
Measurement 8.1
Perform measurement 8.1.
Setpoint value > 550 MOhm
Evaluate test results.
If the measured value is within the tolerance range, repeat measurement.
Contact Technical Support.
If the measured value is outside of the tolerance range, replace electric motor.
After replacing the electric motor, repeat measurement 5.
