Checking Coolant Expansion Tank For Leaks

1. Check the cap.

Tester on cap

1. 1.1 > V.A.G 1274B - Cooling system tester  with > V.A.G 1274B/15 - adapter for cooling system tester  must be fitted on the cap.
2. 1.2 Use > V.A.G 1274B - cooling system tester  to create overpressure of about 2 bar  .
3. 1.3 Check the pressure:

   The overpressure must drop to 1.8 to 1.6 bar  and stay at this level.

4. 1.4 If the overpressure does not behave as described:

   Replace the cap.
