Removing Oil Pump

  1. Remove guide tube for oil dipstick -1-  .

    1. 1.1  Unscrew screw -2-  .
    2. 1.2  Pull guide tube for oil dipstick -1-  up -Arrow-  and remove it.
  2. Remove oil intake tube -1-  .

    1. 2.1  Unscrew and remove screws -2-  .
    2. 2.2  Remove oil intake tube -1-  .
  3. Remove sprocket guard -1-  .

    Sprocket guard

    1. 3.1  Unscrew and remove screws -2-  .
    2. 3.2  Remove sprocket guard -1-  .

    Information 

    > VAS 6928 - Socket wrench set, 39-piece  can be used for loosening and tightening the screw on the sprocket.

  4. Remove sprocket -1-  .

    Counter-hold tool on sprocket

    1. 4.1  Use > T10172 - counter-hold tool-2-  to counter at the sprocket -1-  .
    2. 4.2  Unscrew screw -3-  using a suitable tool from > VAS 6928 - socket/bit set, 39-piece  .
    3. 4.3  Remove sprocket -1-  .

    Information 

    • Be careful of the bushes when removing the oil pump. These can sometimes remain in the metal bead gasket or fall into the engine. 
    • The oil pump must never be re-installed without the bushes. 
  5. Remove oil pump -1-  .

    1. 5.1  Unscrew and remove screws -2-  .
    2. 5.2  Remove oil pump -1-  with seal.
