Removing Turbocharger

NOTIFICATION 

Dirt and contamination 

• Risk of damage to units or components 
  1. → Protect components from dirt and contamination.
  2. → Clean or replace dirty components.

Information 

• Clean all line connections carefully and close them off cover them. 
• Use suitable stoppers for closing off lines. 

1. Disconnect line connections and electric plug connection.

   Vacuum line on turbocharger

   1. 1.1  Release and disconnect electric plug connection for recirculating air valve -2-  .
   2. 1.2  Pull off vacuum line -4-  at the vacuum unit -3-  and set it aside.
   3. 1.3  Remove coolant lines. To do this, unscrew screws -1-  and pull lines up and off.
2. Disconnect line connections.

   V-band clamp on turbocharger

   1. 2.1  Loosen oil supply line -3-  . To do this, unscrew screws -2-  and pull line off the turbocharger.
   2. 2.2  Close off line connections with stoppers.
   3. 2.3  Remove V-band clamp on catalytic converter.
      1. 2.3.1  Loosen screw -4-  and release V-band clamp.
      2. 2.3.2  Carefully loosen V-band clamp from the turbocharger flange -1-  using a hammer and wedge.
3. Remove active carbon filter line -2-  . To do this, unscrew screw -1-  pull off line -2-  and set it aside.

4. Remove turbocharger.

   View of exhaust pipes

   1. 4.1  Unscrew nuts on exhaust pipes -1-  and loosen V-band clamp -4-  .
   2. 4.2  Guide turbocharger and exhaust pipe -2-  out of the clamps -3-  and remove them in an upward direction.
