Measuring System Setup

Information 

On vehicles with air suspension, set the chassis height to Normal level (MEDIUM HEIGHT). 

Information 

Check that there is sufficient floor space between the vehicle and the adjustment device - the gap between the adjustment device and vehicle must be 1200 mm.

Once the vehicle and adjustment device are aligned, the vehicle and adjustment device must no longer be moved.

  1. Set vehicles with air suspension to normal level.
  2. Carry out initial suspension alignment.

  3. Set up adjustment device >VAS 6430/1A - Setting Device with Reflector  with >VAS 6430/3 - ACC reflector mirror  and align it parallel to the vehicle transverse axis.

  5. > VAS 6430/1A - Setting Device with Reflector  must be aligned and balanced using the spirit levels.

  6. On the setting device, move the reflector to position -2-  in alignment with the marking (the number 2 on the rotary knob must point towards the vehicle).

  7. Use the crank on the setting device to adjust the height of the reflector so that the laser beam (for switching on the laser beam

    >> see operating instructions for setting device) strikes the centre of the mirror in the sensor lens on the vertical line.

  8. Unclip cover on sensor at the top and remove it by pulling it forward.

  9. Clean sensors and covers using a commercially available cleaning agent.
