Installing Rear Muffler
- Risk of squashing
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Get someone to help if necessary.
Information
- Due to manufacturing problems, rear mufflers (rear silencers) with non-standard exhaust pipe lengths will be delivered as spare parts during the first 3 - 6 months.
- These spare parts must be adapted until such a time as the standard spare parts are introduced.
- The cutting positions are marked and the parts must be cut at the centre markings.
- Adapt non-standard spare parts by shortening the exhaust pipes, making sure to cut according to the markings!
- 1.1 Use the same tools as used for removing the rear silencer (see removal instructions).
- Only for vehicles with sports exhaust system:
Install exhaust flap actuator on the new rear silencer.

The appearance and number of tailpipes may vary, depending on vehicle equipment.
- Install tailpipes -1-

Tailpipes
- 3.1 Fit tailpipes -1- on rear silencer.
- 3.2 Position clamps -2- and screw in screws -3- by hand so that the tailpipes remain in position on the rear silencer.
- Fit retaining rubbers -1-
on the rear silencer -2-

- 4.1 Push retaining rubbers -1- onto the rear silencer -2- .
- Push clamps -1 and 2-
onto the exhaust pipes -3-
on the rear silencer -Arrows-

The clamps must be aligned between the outer markings for securing the exhaust pipes!

- Install rear silencer -1-

Fitting rear silencer
- 6.1 Move rear silencer -1- into installation position and fit screws on the holders -2- .
- 6.2 Push exhaust clamps -3 and 4-
onto the exhaust pipes -Arrows-
and align and tighten them.
> Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)
- 6.3 Tighten screws on the holders -2-

- Secure tailpipes -1-
.
Tailpipes
- 7.1 Align tailpipes -1- with the rear apron. Make sure that the tailpipes -1- are a sufficient, equal distance away from the rear apron on both sides.
- 7.2 Tighten screws on clamps -3-
.
> Tightening torque 35 Nm (26 ftlb.)
- Only for vehicles with sports exhaust system:
Connect and lock electric plug connection -1- on servo motor for exhaust flap -2- .
