Supporting Engine On The Body (Engine Safety Device)

Work on one side of the vehicle is described here; the same work must be carried out on the other side.
- Remove holder -1-

Holder for front cover
- 1.1 Pull locking pin of the expansion rivet -2- up and out using a suitable tool and unclip expansion rivet -2- .
- 1.2 Remove holder -1- .
- Prepare > 10-222A - support bracket
.
- 2.1 Attach two spindles to > 10-222A - support bracket .
- 2.2 Attach supports 10-222 A/1 at the left and right to > 10-222A - support bracket . Fit the screws so that the supports 10-222 A/1 can still be turned and moved.
Information
The position of the engine transport eyebolts can vary depending on the engine variant.

must now be attached to the vehicle.
Engine safety device
- 3.1 Position supports 10-222 A/1 -2- on the upper longitudinal members by moving them at the slot in the > 10-222A - support bracket-1- .
- 3.2 Check that the supports 10-222 A/1 -2- are fitted correctly on the upper longitudinal members, tighten screws hand-tight and secure supports using 10-222 A/34 .
- 3.3 Hook in hooks -4- on the engine transport eyebolts and pre-tension spindles -3- slightly.
- 3.4 Check again that the supports 10-222 A/1 -2- are fitted correctly.
- Carry out the required work on the vehicle and remove > 10-222A - support bracket
again.

- 5.2 Clip in expansion rivet -2- and lock it with locking pins.
