Installing Oil Pan

Information
If the oil pan shows signs of damage, it must be replaced.
- Cut off the nozzle on the tube at the front marking (nozzle diameter is approx. 1.5 mm).CAUTION: Oil pump suction line blocked
- Risk of engine damage
→ The bead of sealant must not be too thick because if it is, excess sealant can get into the oil pan and block the strainer in the oil pump.
Information
Fitting and sealing components using liquid sealant.
- Clean sealing faces to remove all traces of residual sealant.
- Sealing faces must be free of grease and oil.
- Clean sealing faces with primer Loctite 7515.
- Use liquid sealant Loctite 5970-BM.
Information
The oil pan must be installed within 5 minutes of applying the sealant.
- Risk of engine damage
- Apply a bead of sealant with a thickness of approx. 2 mm all around the cleaned and degreased oil pan. Apply a bead of sealant to the inside of the bores.

- 3.1 Fit oil pan -1- .
- 3.2
Screw in screws in the sequence -2 to 18-
by hand and tighten them.
> Initial tightening 3 Nm (2 ftlb.)
> Final tightening + 90°
- Install holder -1-

Holder
- 4.1 Position holder -1- .
- 4.2
Tighten screw -4-
.
> Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)
- 4.3 Fit and tighten new tie-wraps -3- .
- 4.4 Secure line clip -2- .
- Connect and lock electric plug connection -1-
