Removing Passenger's Airbag Unit

Removing passenger's airbag unit 

WARNING: Improper handling of airbag units 
  • Triggering of airbag unit. 
  • System faults can occur. 
    1. Remove ignition key or remote control (hand-held transmitter) and keep it outside of the transmission range.
    2. External power supply must be de-energized.
    3. Disconnect the battery and isolate the ground strap so that all contact with a ground carrier is avoided.
    4. Wait 1 minute after disconnecting the battery.
    5. Only pull off connector on the triggering unit after the waiting time has elapsed.
    6. Keep space in front of the airbag unit free.
    7. Replace damaged parts.
    8. Always set airbag units down with the blow-out opening facing upwards.
    9. Do not place any objects on the airbag units.
    10. Store airbag units in a safe place.
    11. Avoid contact with grease, oil, detergents, liquids or similar substances.
    12. Store airbag units in a cool place. Maximum temperature: 90°C.

Information 

Dispose of replaced and non-ignited airbag and seat-belt pretensioner units in accordance with local legal requirements and transport regulations.

  1. Wait 1 minute after disconnecting the battery.
  2. Remove passenger's airbag unit -1-  .

    Passenger's airbag unit

    1. 2.1 Release and unplug electric plug connections -2-  .
    2. 2.2 Unscrew fastening screws -3-  .
    3. 2.3 Remove passenger's airbag unit -1-  .
