Installing Driver's Airbag Unit

Installing driver's airbag unit 

Information 

Before installing the driver's airbag unit, check whether the retainer spring, mounting or metal stop on the steering wheel is deformed.

Replace damaged component if it is deformed.

Install driver's airbag unit only if the retainer spring is working perfectly and is at the correct position. The retainer spring must not jam or become hooked.

  1. Plug in and lock electric plug connections -1-  .

  2. Position the airbag unit -1-  at the correct position and engage it in the steering wheel -2-  using both hands and intermittent pressure.

  3. Each time the airbag unit is fitted, it is important to check that it is installed correctly by tapping the steering wheel rim and performing a visual inspection (position of airbag unit on steering wheel).
