Installing Rear Disc Brake Pads

WARNING: Installation of brake pads with the wrong brake pad quality 
  • Longer braking distance 
  • More wear on brake pads 
    1. → Only use the type-specific brake pads listed in the Porsche Parts Information.
    2. → Replace brake pads on both sides of axle when the brake pad wear indicator light comes on.
WARNING: Old mounting parts fitted on the bake calliper 
  • Reduced braking effect 
  • Risk of damage to the brake calliper. 
    1. → Fit new pad retaining springs.
    2. → Fit new fastening screws.

Information 

  1. Only for standard brake calliper (18-inch, black/green) and only for North America (M-no. 1KV/AV2):  Install balancing weights -1-  in piston.

  2. Fit new pad retaining clips.
  3. Place disc brake pad on the sealing surfaces of the pad retaining clips -Arrows-  .

  4. Position disc brake pad on the pad retaining pins -Arrows-  .

  5. Push disc brake pad into the brake calliper -Arrow-  .
