Installing Windscreen

CAUTION: Danger of material damage if specified curing time of adhesive is not observed! In order to ensure that the bonded joint is sufficiently strong, the following boundary conditions must be adhered to:

The vehicle must not be used until the curing time has elapsed.
Curing time: 2 hours
Temperature: at least 10°C
Fixing time: approx. 1 hour

Adhesive life

CAUTION:

Apply adhesive and install the windscreen within the standing time -10 min- .
To ensure that the substance is completely mixed, apply a 30 mm long bead of fresh adhesive to a piece of cardboard before using it.

Information

Check stop bits and replace if necessary.

Prepare adhesive for processing.

Information
- The adhesive bead must overlap by approx. 30 mm at the beginning and end.
Use > VAS 5237 - double cartridge gun to apply adhesive to the windscreen -1- along the preliminary coat or on the primer as a triangular bead measuring > Application depth 15 mm -X- .

Applying adhesive

Information
- The help of another person is required.
Insert the windscreen into the body.

Windscreen
1. 3.1 Affix suction cups to the windscreen.
2. 3.2 Guide the windscreen into the window aperture -arrows A- .
3. 3.3 Position the windscreen on the lower edge -arrows A- and fit it -arrows B- .
Adjust windscreen gap. > Gap dimension 2.9 mm > Gap dimension 2 mm +/- 0.5 mm
Remove suction cups.
Secure the windscreen -1- with adhesive tape -2- to prevent it from slipping.

Adhesive tape
Remove any adhesive that has oozed out immediately and clean the affected visible areas using cleaning cloths.
Remove adhesive tape and disconnect all electric connections from the windscreen.
