Installing Rear Window

CAUTION: Danger of material damage if specified curing time of adhesive is not observed! In order to ensure that the bonded joint is sufficiently strong, the following boundary conditions must be adhered to:
  • The vehicle must not be used until the curing time has elapsed.
  • Curing time: 2 hours
  • Temperature: at least 10°C
  • Fixing time: approx. 1 hour
  1. Prepare adhesive for processing.

    > 6X00IN22 WORKING WITH PORSCHE 2-COMPONENT WINDOW ADHESIVE

    Information 

    • Before using the adhesive, apply a bead of adhesive approx. 30 mm long to a piece of cardboard to ensure that the substance is completely mixed. 
    • Apply a bead of adhesive at the beginning and end with an overlap of approx. 30 mm. 
    • The rear window must be installed within 10 minutes after applying the adhesive. 
  2. Use > VAS 5237 - double cartridge gun  to apply a triangular bead of adhesive along the preliminary coat or on the primer on the rear window -1-  .

    > Application depth 15 mm

    Information 

    • The help of another person is required.

    Rear window

    1. 3.1 Affix suction cup to the rear window.
    2. 3.2 Guide the rear window into the window aperture -arrow A-  .
    3. 3.3 Position the rear window on the lower edge -arrows A-  and fit it -arrow B-  .
  4. Adjust gap dimension of rear window.

    > Gap dimension 3.5 mm + 1.5 mm - 0.1 mm 

    > Gap dimension 3.5 mm + 1.5 mm - 0.5 mm 

    Laminated safety glass offset:  > Gap dimension 1 mm + 1.2 mm - 1.2 mm 

    Single-layer safety glass offset:  > Gap dimension 2.1 mm + 1.2 mm - 1.2 mm 

  5. Remove suction cups and secure rear window from slipping -1-  with adhesive tape -2-  .

  6. Remove any adhesive that has oozed out immediately and clean the affected visible areas using cleaning agent.
