Installing Rear Side Window

CAUTION:
Danger of material damage if specified curing time of adhesive is not observed! In order to ensure that the bonded joint is sufficiently strong, the following conditions must be adhered to:
- The vehicle must not be used until the curing time has elapsed.
- Curing time: 2 hours
- Temperature: at least 10°C
- Fixing time: approx. 1 hour

- The removed rear side window can be re-installed if there was no prior damage to the rear side window and the rear side window was removed without damage.

- Check stop bits.
- Replace damaged or missing stop bits.

- When applying the adhesive, always ensure that the adhesive bead overlaps by approx. 30 mm at the beginning and at the end.

- Adhesive has an open time of 15 minutes, within which the adhesive must be applied and the component joined.
- To check that the substance is completely mixed, apply a 30-mm long bead of fresh adhesive to a piece of cardboard before using it.
- Prepare adhesive for processing.
- Affix suction cups to the rear side window.

- Insert the rear side window into the window aperture.
- Press the rear side window evenly onto the body.
- Set a uniform gap dimension by moving the rear side window.
> Gap dimension 6 mm + 1 mm - 1 mm > Gap dimension - 1.6 mm + 1 mm - 1 mm
> Gap dimension 6.5 mm + 0.8 mm - 0.8 mm
> Gap dimension 0.8 mm + 0.5 mm - 0.5 mm
- Secure the rear side window to the top of the body with adhesive tape to prevent it from slipping.
- Clean visible areas.
- Adhesive that has oozed out must be removed immediately and the affected fields of vision must be cleaned using cleaning solution.
