Increase the fixing force of the suction cup by moistening it if necessary.

> VAS 861 001A - Window removal set must be attached to the inside of the windscreen.
Unwind the cutting cord and cut it using a cutter. > Length 6 m

Vehicle identification number
- To prevent damage, slide the protective film -2- supplied with the cutting tool between the windscreen and vehicle identification number -1- .
- Guide the cutting cord -3- over the protective film -2- when separating the glass.
Pierce the adhesive bead with the scratch awl -1- (-arrow A- ) and use the cutting cord -2- to pull it through from the outside in -arrow B- .

Protective film
- Make sure not to damage electric connections when removing the glass using cutting cord.
- Cut up to just before the electric connection.
- Slacken the cutting cord.
- Guide cutting cord past the electric connection on the inside.
- Protect electric connections with protective film.
- Make sure that the cutting cord does not press against electric connections when removing the glass.
- Continue separating the window glass.

- Increase the fixing force of the suction cup by cleaning the window from the inside if necessary.
Separate windscreen.
1. 4.1 Insert the cutting cord into the bore on the spooling device.
2. 4.2 Align the spooling device so that the angle of the cutting cord with respect to the window frame is as acute as possible.
  Press spooling device with suction cups firmly against the windscreen.
3. 4.3 Cut out the windscreen by winding the cutting cord onto the spooling device.
  Re-position the spooling device to reduce the tensile force of the cutting cord when removing the glass.
