Preliminary Work - Vehicles With Air Suspension

CAUTION: Escaping residual air 
  • Risk of eye injuries 
    1. → Wear protective goggles.
  1. Remove rear wheel.

    > Removing and installing wheel 

  2. Empty the relevant air spring bellows.

    > WM, 430117 BLEEDING AND FILLING THE LEVELLING SYSTEM

  3. Remove stone guard for valve unit -1-

    Stone guard for valve unit

    1. 3.1  Unscrew nuts -2-  and remove stone guard for valve unit -1-  .
  4. Release residual pressure from air spring bellows.

    Valve unit

    1. 4.1  Slowly loosen union nut -1 or 2-  on the air line -3 or 4-  at the valve unit. Do not unscrew fully until the residual pressure has escaped!

      Union nut -1-  on line -4-  during removal at the right.

      Union nut -2-  on line -3-  during removal at the left.
