Calibrating Infrared Camera

The PIWIS Tester  instructions take precedence since the description may be different with later Tester releases.

The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear on the PIWIS Tester. 

  1. Clean the infrared camera  using a soft cloth.
  2. Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
  3. Select the vehicle type if necessary.
  4. Select the Night Vision System control  unit in the overview.  Press F12 to continue. Is a "Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)" to be created? Press F11 to continue.
  5. Select Coding/programming. 
  6. Select Automatic coding.  Press F12 to continue.
  7. The tester displays the message: Coding successful.
  8. Select Maintenance/repairs. 
  9. Calibration  must be selected. Press F12 to continue.
  10. Read and follow the information and instructions on Tester. Press F12 to continue.
  11. Perform calibration according to menu guidance.
  12. Read out all fault memories  and erase them if necessary.
  13. Exit the diagnostic application. Switch off ignition. Disconnect the Tester from the vehicle.
