Preliminary Work

Information 

Before removing the gateway control unit, the Porsche Vehicle Tracking System (PVTS) must be set to Workshop mode. 

Workshop mode can only be set by the customer  using Car Connect.

An alarm must not be active in the Porsche Vehicle Tracking System (PVTS).

Car Connect

Information 

Before removing the external communication control unit, the Porsche Vehicle Tracking System (PVTS) must be set to Vehicle Servicing mode. 

Vehicle Servicing mode can only be set by the customer  using Car Connect.

If the Gateway  control unit is replaced, continue with Step  1.

If the Gateway  control unit is not replaced, continue with Step  2.

1. If the Gateway  control unit is replaced, the old gateway control unit must be de-registered before installing the new gateway control unit in markets with Porsche Connect.

2. Loosen battery ground strap.

3. Remove left front seat.

4. Detach side trim panel on lower part of centre console at the left from the front until the joint in the carpet is accessible.
