Replacing PASM Control Unit

Information 

The PIWIS Tester  instructions take precedence since the description may be different with later Tester releases.

The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear on the PIWIS Tester  .

  1. Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
  2. Select the required vehicle type.
  3. Select the PASM  control unit in the overview  .
  4. Maintenance/repairs  must now be selected. Press F12 to continue.
  5. Select the PASM/PADM start-up  function. Press F12 to continue.
  6. Read the preconditions for start-up. Press F12 to continue.
  7. Check vehicle identification number. Press F7 or F8 to continue.
  8. Wait for confirmation that coding was completed successfully. 

    Vehicle without PASM 

  9. Press F12 to end the process.

    Vehicle with PASM 

  10. Press F12 to continue.
  11. Start the calibration process by pressing F8.
  12. Wait for confirmation that calibration was completed successfully  . Press F12 to continue.
  13. Press F12 to end the start-up process.
  14. Erase the fault memory and switch off ignition.
  15. Disconnect the Tester from the vehicle.
  16. Perform a test drive and check function of PASM and PADM.
