Installing Hydraulic Control Unit

Information
- Aluminium screws must always be replaced.
- Aluminium screws must be secured using the yield-strength procedure.
- To ensure that the screws are tightened uniformly, the specified tightening setting "light, medium or hard" must be used.
- The threshold torque (initial tightening) must be set on the > 9768 - electronic torque wrench from 2 - 100 Nm (1.5 - 74 ftlb.) when tightening using the yield-strength procedure.
Information
- Before installation, check the sealing faces on the transmission control mechanism and on the transmission for damage and soiling.
- Damaged or soiled parts must not be used. Ensure absolute cleanliness during installation.

- The electric wire harnesses for the solenoid valves and for the temperature sensor must be routed in the recess between the transmission housing and transmission control mechanism.
- Crushed wire harnesses can cause damage and malfunctions.
Information
After replacing the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) or after carrying out repairs in the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), the transmission control unit must be calibrated using the PIWIS Tester.
- If connector housings were damaged during removal, these must be replaced.
- Position transmission control mechanism.
- 2.1 > VAS 6931 - Engine and gearbox jack must be positioned under the transmission.
- 2.2 Set transmission control mechanism down on the transmission jack.
- 2.3 Secure the transmission control mechanism with two replacement screws (M6 x 95 mm) at positions -11 and 20- . Screw in screws by about 10 mm.
- Connect electric plug connections at the solenoid valves -1 and 2- .
- Check that the electric plug connections have locked correctly.
- Secure transmission control mechanism to the transmission housing.
- 5.1 Use new fastening screws.
- 5.2 Check that the electric wire harnesses are positioned correctly.
- 5.3 Make sure that the transmission control mechanism is flat on the housing.
- 5.4 The transmission control mechanism must be positioned exactly with respect to the port plate.
- 5.5 Fit and tighten screws -1 to 15-
in the specified sequence.
Replace replacement screw from position -11- .
- 5.6 Unscrew replacement screw from position -20- .
- 5.7 Fit and tighten screws -16 to 20- in the specified sequence.
- 5.8 Check the position of the transmission control mechanism again.
- 5.9 Tighten screws -1 to 20-
in the specified sequence. > Initial tightening 2.4 Nm (2 ftlb.)
>9768 - Electronic torque wrench, 2 - 100 Nm (1.5 - 74 ftlb.)
- 5.10 Tighten screws -1 to 20- in the specified sequence.
