Installing Vacuum Pump

- Installation is performed in reverse order. Always observe the following points.

Replace seal -1-
on the vacuum pump, check seals -2-
on the vacuum lines and replace them if necessary.
Replace seals
- 1.2 Grease seal -1- on the vacuum pump with "Kluber Syntheso Glepl" (see Porsche Spare Parts Catalog).
- 1.3 Clean contact surfaces on the vacuum pump and cylinder head.
- 1.4 Align vacuum pump driver.

Observe specified tightening torques:
Vacuum pump to engine: > Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.) .
Vacuum line to engine: > Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.) .
Heat shield the engine: > Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.) .
