Detaching And Securing Charge Air Cooler (Service Position)

CAUTION:
Hot components
- Risk of burns
- → Let hot components cool down.
- → Wear personal protective gear.
- Remove moulded hose -1
- for throttle body.
- 1.1 Open screw-type clamps and pull off moulded hose.
- Disconnect vent lines and connecting hose for the ambient air valve.
- 2.1 Pull off plug-in couplings -2 -.
- 2.2 Open spring clamp -4 - and pull off hose.
- Unlock and pull off cable plug -3
- on boost pressure sensor -1

- Disconnect connecting hose -1
- on ambient air valve -2
-.
- Pull off vent line -4
- on the charge air cooler.
- 5.1 Press locking lugs and pull off the line.
- 5.2 Close off vent line connection and secure it to prevent coolant from leaking.
- Close off coolant openings.
- Detach charge air cooler -1

- 7.1 Unscrew M6 screws -2 -.
- Detach connection to the pressure pipe.
- 8.1 Open spring clamp -1
- and pull off charge air cooler by pulling it upwards.
Check the installation position of the spring clamp!
- 8.2 Re-fit spring clamp immediately.
- 8.1 Open spring clamp -1
- and pull off charge air cooler by pulling it upwards.
- Secure charge air cooler -1
- with tie-wrap -2
- on convertible top linkage (Boxster) -3
- or lid hinge (Cayman).
Attach or fit protective covers on the body, trim panels and convertible top window (Boxster)!
- Re-fit charge air cooler when you have finished carrying out repairs.
