Removing And Installing Radiator

WARNING: Hot fluid 
  • Danger of scalding 
    • → Let the fluid cool down.
    • → Wear personal protective gear.
  1. Unscrew and remove screw -3-  .
  2. Loosen condenser -1-  from the side retaining lugs -4-  .

  3. Secure the condenser -1-  with a tie-wrap -2-  to prevent it from falling down.

    Securing condenser

    Information 

    Only for vehicles with a middle radiator.

    Information 

    Collect escaping coolant in a suitable container.

    Information 

    • Coat O-rings, hoses and lines in the cooling system with Kluberplus Gel (Part No. 000.043.205.93). 
  4. Disconnect coolant hose -1-  going to the middle radiator.
  5. Check O-ring for damage and replace it if necessary.
  6. Close off coolant hose -1-  and connection piece.

    Information 

    Collect escaping coolant in a suitable container.

    Information 

    • Coat O-rings, hoses and lines in the cooling system with Kluberplus Gel (Part No. 000.043.205.93). 
  7. Disconnect coolant hoses -1 and 3-  .
  8. Disconnect vent line -2-  .
  9. Check O-rings for damage and replace them if necessary.
  10. Close off coolant hoses and connection piece.

  11. Disconnect electric plug connection -1-  .

  12. Unscrew and remove screws -1-  at the bottom of the radiator frame.

    Lower radiator support

  13. Unscrew and remove screw -1-  at the top of the radiator frame.

    Upper radiator support

  14. Press locking lugs on the holder -2-  together and disengage radiator.

  15. Remove radiator.
  16. Installation is performed in reverse order. Pay particular attention to the following:

    Tightening torque for screw at top and bottom of radiator frame: > Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)  > Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)
